- CONVENTION CENTRAL
USDF CONVENTION 2012 IN NEW ORLEANS
December 5-8, 2012 at the Sheraton New Orleans on Canal Street
Here's the latest on convention planning. Not that we will need a lot of volunteers to make this happen ... so mark your calendars now to ensure your availability! We will for sure need people to staff the SEDA table, work admission for the Salute Gala, setup and takedown of decorations for the Salute Gala. There will be more!
What do we know NOW? Convention dates are December 5-8 at the Sheraton New Orleans on Canal Street. There will be a Welcome Party at Mulate's with bus service to/from the hotel for about an hour on the 5th. The convention theme will be "Laissez les bon temps rouler."
What can we do NOW? If you have Mardi Gras beads to donate for the Convention, please contact Nicole for a drop off.
We need help with sponsorships for the following. Please note that no amount is too small; totals are provided to give scope to what is needed. Please note that anyone who wishes to help sponsor anything related to the convention (at a corporate level) will receive maximum publicity if they commit by June 1. This allows USDF time to put names and information in all marketing materials leading up to the Convention - it's the most bang for your buck! Sponsorships and donations will be accepted at any time, but you'll get the most exposure if you commit by June 1. Here's the list:
-Helping cover the cost of putting together a great welcome party. We need to raise about $5000 toward the cost of this.
-We would like to have a special give-away item/souvenir at the Salute Gala. Total cost is about $800.
-Table decorations at the Salute Gala. We're considering stadium cups and a mardi-gras arrangement. $250 for the cups, $400 for the arrangements.
-Coffee/tea/snack breaks during the convention itself. About $3000 each, can be split among multiple sponsors.
Sponsors get lots of advertising opportunities and promotion at the convention via published materials, signage and announcements. If you can help out in any of these areas, contact Nicole (newsletter@sedariders.org) and she'll put you in touch with the right people.
- OFF COURSE NEWSLETTER MAY/JUNE issue has been released. Please contact Nicole if you did not receive download instructions. Printed copies should arrive by mid-month.
- GOV INSPECTION AT OAK HILL has been scheduled for June 12. Please contact Hilda Lanaux for more information.
